Casual Oceanside dining @ a history rich location. Great salads. Live music on weekends, weather permitting. Salads, burgers, and cold beers are great, and the view is better. Nothing beats Waldo's on a sunny afternoon.

Great burger...amazing view...awesome place...fun people! So glad we found this chill spot on our short visit to Vero Beach.
(4)Amber K.
Located at the Driftwood Resort, Waldo's terrace overlooks the ocean. The view is spectacular and the atmosphere pleasant. They have a good selection of seafood although we were disappointed that almost everything on the menu was fried.

Great atmosphere, view and drinks!

If you are looking for a chill ambience , beachside seating , then look no further . Put on ur bathing suit, and grab a nice cold beer . (Shirt is optional) Was that for a late lunch, and mainly ordered apps and beers The fish dip was amazing The seafood sampler was good, did not like the fried oysters , but the coconut shrimp was amazing !! The conch fritters were very delicious , and my all time favorite were the Mahi fingers !! Very fresh ! The service was a little slow, they were understaffed and a lot of costumers.

We dined on a Sunday afternoon around 2pm. There was a band playing inside the restaurant. We chose to sit oceanside, and what a view! Our party of 3 ordered two appetizers, conch fritters, and fried dolphin fingers. Both were delicious and perfectly cooked. For my main entree, I ordered the backyard burger and added blue cheese, mushrooms, and bacon with a side of pasta salad. The burger was amazing, loved it!!! Next time, I am going to try their taco salad. The downside to our visit was our server. She was very unpleasant and impatient. Overall, a wonderful dining experience, unique to Vero Beach, and rich in history makes this a must try!!
(4)Leslie S.
Our server, Courtney, was most pleasant and deserves accommodation. She made a special effort to make a fruit plate just for us. In addition, she added more alcohol to our beverages. Although we didn't dine, the menu items looked huge and tasty.
(4)Ryan A.
I've been here a few times with family, atmosphere and views are just unbeatable! I got the chicken quesadillas; the food is always decent never disappointed average quality. The service is average as well, pretty friendly. Would come back

We ate here on June 21 for a pre-Fathers Day dinner. I was impressed by the rustic nature of the hotel/restaurant - but not so much by the meal. Not many "healthy" menu items - which is unfortunate. I ordered the Creole Fish Sandwich which was a mistake. The fish was over-fried to the point of resembling a fritter, and was tasteless. Instead of a bun, it should have been served on a kaiser roll or anything that would contain the ingredients - because the fish, lettuce and tomato ended up falling out onto the plate. Thankfully, I had a place setting and could improvise. To say the service was slow would be an understatement . Waiting 15 minutes after being seated is ridiculous. I usually order water for my beverage. On this evening I decided to try lemonade. I could hardly tell the difference between the glass of water my girlfriend ordered and my lemonade. Very weak! My pet peeve is restaurants which allow smoking at outdoor tables! Waldo's is one of them and this is also unfortunate ! Too bad Florida's legislature hasn't enacted a law against this ! It would sure to make food taste better! Although the place was crowded , most of the folks had drinks in hand - no food. Locals say the food is good - which doesn't say much for Vero Beach's palate. But that doesn't surprise me , since there are few restaurants that I'd return for a second visit.

Just had drinks out by the ocean on a clear, starry night. The atmosphere is great and the wait staff were very friendly and accommodating. And free Wifi. (helps in drafting a Yelp review)

If you're looking for a quiet evening overlooking the ocean.....go somewhere else. We visited on a Thursday night. The place was "jamming" with what I can only describe as a middle-aged garage band. Too loud, and way off key. Mostly a younger, intoxicated clientele with a dress code of less than casual. Just about everything on the menu is deep fried , but they did have some creative dinner-sized salads. After a 40-minute, very unorganized wait for a table, I wasn't very hungry by the time we were seated. (It could have been the 3 drinks I had while waiting or my throbbing head from the "music"). I ended up having the extremely rubbery calamari but my husband said his "Bermuda triangles" (fried mozzarella) was ok. Our server Jessie was very friendly and did her best to make us feel welcomed (she was the highlight of our dining experience). I would only recommend Waldo's to the under 22 crowd whose sole mission is to drink until the band sounds good.

Margarita was good but not great. My IPA was typical for the region, rather bland. I ordered a daily special the poor boy cagan oyster sandwich. My date had the Caribbean crab cake sandwich. Service was excellent and attentive. My bread was a touch day - old in the texture and flavor. Oysters were cooked to perfection, a thick crunchy breading outside, and soft juicy insides. The cagan spices were very flavorful with just a hint of heat, and nicely balanced with the tomatoe slices and chopped lettuce. The crab cake was perhaps a bit under cooked because it was mushy inside. Overall not bad at all, but not super. Would we return, the answer is yes.
(4)Carrie C.
Where do I start? The place is filthy, a gross concrete floor that is tacky, black dust and build up all along the window sill area where we were sitting. Yuck. It took just about an hour for all eight of us to get our burgers. We asked twice if our order was almost ready to be told "yes" and then wait another 10 minutes to ask again. The waiter looked baffled both times we asked and replied with "it's not out yet?" The burgers were good, not great and certainly not worth the 45 minute wait for a seat and the hour wait for the food. I honestly probably wouldn't go back, there are lots of other places to choose from.
(2)Nick T.
Perfect beachside eating! The tables are right on the beach with access to the sand and water. You can eat inside or outside, and we always choose outside! On sunny days, there are umbrellas over the tables for shade. The service is quick and friendly. The seafood is fresh and delicious. My blackened shrimp quesadilla was full of cheese, jalapeños, and tomatoes, and the shell was crisp and tasty. My wife's Traveler's Shrimp Basket offered a good variety and the Monterey Jack stuffed shrimp were absolutely to die for! We shared a sampler basket to start, and the coconut shrimp were nice and sweet, the oysters were big and creamy, and the conch fritters were meaty and spicy! The dipping sauces were all exceptional. My Bloody Mary was refreshing and crisp, and her banana chocolate frozen daiquiri was absolutely the best I've ever had! We will be back!

You cannot beat Waldo's for ambience, if you sit outside. Oceanside and poolside seating offer great views. Strangely, it stinks inside. We had two salads: the chicken salad salad, and the Hawaiian salad. The chicken salad was very good. The Hawaiian salad lacked a substantial amount of shrimp and scallops which were very small, and the dressing wasn't very good. We had one drink, a rum-runner, which had the distinctive taste of a pre-mixed beverage. Like any tourist trap, you go for the destination.
(3)Brandon S.
I've been here quite a few times & my best advice is to keep expectations curbed a bit for food & service quality. This place is geared toward VB tourists and you shouldn't be expecting a 5-Star Resort beach side restaurant experience. They don't charge those kind of exorbitant prices so that should be a fair warning about what you're in store for. That being said, this is a must to check out if you're beach side in Vero. The outdoor patio is a great place to have a drink (day or night) and enjoy the view & possibly a decent band. The bartenders I've had here are friendly enough for my expectations. Some of the other reviewers may have been singling out table servers as shoddy, but honestly I haven't/wouldn't come here to eat. There's much better choices for lunch & dinner nearby. Full liquor bar (and they make 'em potent) w/ a good selection of beers on tap.
(3)Jennifer N.
Came here off the beach for lunch today. We sat inside to keep cool while we ate. I had a cheeseburger which was huge, and served with some delicious seasoned fries. The waitress Heidi was kind enough to accommodate my request for an iced coffee to go which I appreciated.
(4)Nicole R.
One of only a few places to get a reasonably priced meal on the beach in Vero. Food is pretty good, but the view is better. Service is hit-or-miss ... we've had a couple great servers and a couple of really bad, totally space-cadet duds.
(3)Luci B.
This place is just too cute! I came once just to look around at the resort and again to grab a bite at the bar. I really love the decor, the whole place is like a big tree house or log cabin decorated with quirky Americana. For some reason the bar is dark during the day and too bright at night. Our bartender (I think his name was Martin) was really nice and quite cute. I'd go back just to ogle his muscles ;) I ordered the fried oysters and I know this might sound weird, but these were the best I've ever had. They actually tasted like oysters and didn't get lost in the batter, they used nice briny ones! They do have a tendency to fall apart but it's OK, just accept it and don't bother with a fork. The fries were meh, but who cares, oysters!
(3)Paul W.
I can summarize in one word.. Pedestrian. The service was very slow, the food was not what I had expected from a restaurant with beach access. The crab cake was ok, but the "salad in a bag" was sad. The burger was not served on a Kaiser roll, but a stale bun. The meat was an over cooked frozen tasteless mess with equally tasteless cheese. My advise is go for a drink and save your appetite for something better.
(2)Tom C.
While the service can be slow, it actually adds to the purpose of this restaurant... To slow down and take it all in. Food was great, weather was beautiful, drinks were cold, and the view was AMAZING. Would come again.
(4)Frank C.
Cool place. Don't let the frat house smell and sticky tables turn you off. The food is actually really good.
(4)Ashlee W.
Waldo's is a great spot for a good meal, even better drinks, and best of all-the atmosphere. What's better than live music while watching the waves break and sipping on a voodoo bucket? The chicken quesadilla is SOO good and comes with bacon and jalapeños, YUM. The dolphin fingers with mango salsa are also really good.
(4)Jeremy Z.
Great seaside dive. Location is just about everything here. Great spot on the ocean. Live music at night.
(4)L H.
1 star Free parking 2 visit in 1 week to this place. 1 star because free parking. *Molly the daytime bartender has the personality of a dirty dish towel. * Mo the server made our dinner experience awful and painful. I'm a nutshell we waited for 10 min for any sorts of service. I got up to get water from the bar. Pretty pathetic when that happens. Food this VISIT came out rather quickly, and as usual tasked great (small portions) Problem we waited for drinks for quite some time as did tables around us.. Lots of negative reviews about Driftwood on Yelp. It Would be nice if management paid attention to them. The server was a loof to the whole dining experience meaning she was babbling about whatever to other customers while other customers listened and waited patiently with big wide eyes hoping her altered self would wake up and snap out of it. I have been coming to visit Driftwood for years and after these last couple visits I'm Done.. Besides it obvious the locals don't go here for a reason. The staff doesn't care because this time share resort will always have business.
(1)Rick A.
Excellent food and atmosphere. I have driven down to here from Orlando and have never been disappointed when I come. The band at the pool has played Chicago,AJA, Boz Skags. Etc. The hotel has the old Florida character. I loved staying here before
(5)Jim s.
Do not come here to drink. You cannot sit at a table if you do not order food. I would understand if there were any other customers in the establishment but there was not. Spend your money somewhere else.

We visited Waldo's on a Wednesday afternoon in October. We were seated about as close to the beach as legally possible after two handoffs in less than a minute. Our server was friendly , pert , and efficient. We ordered serially , starting with a draft, then another draft, then hot wings, finally a Cajun mahi sandwich with fries. This did not seem to trouble our waitress at all. In fact , she came back several times on her own to make sure we had ample water. By most people's standards , the wings were hot. They were a little messy but what can one expect. By any standard the mahi sandwich was great. My partner thought the fries were hand-cut . I thought that they were high grade frozen. Whichever, were fine. We went to Waldo's expecting a decent view of the ocean and possibly substandard food . What we got was great pub food, a superb seat overlooking the beach, and excellent service, all at a reasonable price. We shall return.
(4)Shawn W.
I'm going to tell you the place is not much to look at and I was not expecting much when I went here with friends and ordered. I was wrong. The food was very good. Much better than I was expecting. I will definitely go there again when I'm in the area.
(4)Christina D.
One of the few places you can sit and eat/ drink outside next to the ocean! Loved the beautiful view. Ordered the sample platter, the conch fritters were delicious but everything else was underwhelming. But that's usually the case when ordering a fried sampler. Enjoyed Pina coladas and rum runners while taking in the ocean front view. The next table over had a huge fish sandwich that looked like heaven.
(4)Catherine L.
We were a bit skeptical expecting a fair priced and fair tasting food at best. Surprisingly it was really really good. We skipped appetizers and ordered the mahi fingers and the By Sea sliders. Huge portions of both. The Mahi were lightly breaded (looks like beer batter) tasted fresh and were very delicious. No fries comes it with though since it's technically an app. The By Sea sliders come 3 per order with seasoned fries. Inside the mini buns are two large chunks of lightly battered and fried lobster with a tiny bit of lettuce. Yum! The only downers are 1) that the buns are kinda cheap, they fall apart instantly 2) the lobster meat isn't chopped down making it really messy and hard to eat ( it was tasty so I had no shame and ate like a cave person) 3) the red pepper sauce was bland. Service was excellent! Live band was also a hit!
(4)LyTysha S.
Waldo's was wonderful. We LOVED the atmosphere, being able to eat by the beach and our food was A+++++. It was truly a great experience for us while we were on our vacation.
(4)Ingrid B.
Love love love Waldos The best server is Jessie. Great food, great view I recommend the Voodoo bucket as your drink..Open Mice is so much fun.
(5)Terry P.
Great beachside happy hour everyday from 4-7. Grab a drink and watch the sunset in a historic Vero Beach landmark.
(4)Mary B.
Worst dining experience in years. Read reviews here and decided to take an out of town guest there for dinner. We each ordered a cup of soup before our meals and he also ordered salad. After a lengthy wait, soup and salad arrived. Before I took 2 spoonfuls of soup, our meals were delivered by another server. Fearing my fried oysters would get cold, I sent the soup back with the server. My guest was famished and devoured his soup but sent his salad back, as he had ordered fried shrimp. We had planned on having a nice leisurely dinner. My friends spicy shrimp came with rice and fresh green beans, both were very much under cooked. My oyster basket ($16.95) had only 7 oysters and the cole slaw was inedible due to a funny taste. I will NEVER return. This is a resort, timeshare located on the beach filled with a new group of tourists constantly, so they do not have to rely on repeat customers to stay afloat. I can't imagine this place to be a locals favorite to dine.
(1)Chris H.
Love the view. Next to beach and pool. Had shrimp Cajun flat bread and Cajun fish samwich on ceaser . kids loved chicken tenders. 1130am for lunch. All tables full at 12p. Love this place for lunch.
(4)Donald S.
Good change of pace restaurant for lunch. Love the view outside if good weather. Good lunch menu. Good food. Price reasonable.
(4)Lisa W.
Definitely the outdoor winner for food/drink as its right there on Vero Beach. Jamaican fish sandwich was good as was the very fat hot dog. We had a new waiter named Clifford and he was awesome! Very personable staff.
(4)Gina D.
The view is the best reason to come but the food is good. We had the cocktail shrimp, Great flavor, and the grilled fresh grouper. It was very good. My boyfriend had the sliders and fries which were also good. Nothing fancy but good. It was a beautiful day to be by the water enjoying the view and listening to a live band. We will be back for more relaxation.
(4)Rudegal L.
Great food good service great location right ocean front. But if you go around happy hour it can be loud n crowded.
(5)Kelly V.
The driftwood is made of exactly that, and so is Waldo's restaurant. The finds on the walls are from various Spanish shipwrecks. When all of Waldo Sextons restaurants were built he was an eclectic collector of old Spanish relics lost at sea and he put them in his buildings. So for the price of a beer you are welcome to come and enjoy the museum built for your enjoyment, and that's awesome. In addition to access to this historic property you are right on one of Vero's best beaches. There are 2 reefs right off the beach, as well as a shipwreck! The beach chairs, umbrellas, and kayaks available for rent at reasonable prices! I mean, us locals even use them and are all well acquainted with Sharkbait, the guy who handles the rentals. There's live music every weekend and free happy hour snacks every weekday from 4-6, and I'm talking tacos not bar peanuts! The food is good too, I highly recommend the coconut shrimp or mahi mahi fingers. This is typical Florida seafood/bar food. It's not five star amazing but it's delicious and quite possibly exactly what your looking for. So go grab a Rum Bucket (giant rum runner in a beach pail!) and your beach towel and go lay in the sand to the sound of a classic rock band. Rent a kayak and check out the shipwreck, then grab a bit to eat! Cause you can do all of that in just a short afternoon a Waldo's.
(5)Chris D.
The atmosphere and location was awesome. The live jazz band was extremely awesome. Draft beer was great, and the calamari was over cooked, kinda blaaaa. Overall I'll give them 4 stars. We really enjoyed and will stay at the Driftwood next time.
(4)scott h.
We ate here four times in the month we stayed in vero. First thing, the oceanside outside patio is just great for a sunny afternoon. Most weekend afternoons they have live music. Fantastic. We ate the coconut shrimp (good). Also the fish tacos (really good). Good service even on a sunny Sunday when the place was packed. Open mic on Thursday night with a full band to support players and singers. Stop in.
(4)Sean H.
Great view and location. Upon sitting however, heard a waiter talking loud to the bartender saying that the kitchen sends out raw chicken all the time. Then a big drunken brawl on the beach which brought the police, then another drunken idiot MF-ing everyone in the parking lot. Avoid happy hour. Also, my blackened dolphin was 1/4" thick. Explore other dining options!
(2)Tamara S.
This place is hit or miss with the consistency of the food. I can go there one day and the food is great, and then the next day the food is bad!! The wait staff has always been good though!
(3)Jessie F.
We were checking in to the resort and had to wait a little bit for our room to be ready so we stopped here for drinks and a little lunch bite. The view was great and the service was pretty good too. Everyone seemed to enjoy there food; quesadillas, mahi fingers, and a chicken sandwich. The mango sauce with the mahi fingers was very good and the salsa was made fresh.
(4)Susan C.
Half of us liked our food. None of us liked the service. Cobb salad and chicken salad were disappointing aka yucky. Crab cake was good. Again, waitress was not.
(2)Ted F.
Cool place to grab decently priced drinks right on the beach with live music; what more do you need?
(5)Sarah W.
Super location, good food, and nice service! We enjoyed lunch here- the salads and wraps are tasty. The atmosphere on the patio is fun and unique.
(4)Michael K.
Great food great service. Not sure what to order? Get the sampler. Also the deep fried oysters are the best. Really fresh.
(4)Natalie S.
I always love this place, its a great historical place for Vero! Staff is always friendly and the live music is great! Food is wonderful and goes well with dining out on the patio on a beautiful day!
(4)Dennis C.
Pretty cool atmosphere and hangout spot for locals. Food-wise though it's nothing special. If I lived around here I could see this as a regular bar hop being right next to the beach.
(2)Ryan C.
Not a recommended place for even a coke! I had the Florida Fish of the day and it was way under cooked. I then asked for a cheeseburger and it made Burger King taste like Five Guys!!! My daughter had to reorder her sprite twice and then finally ask for a coke. My wife got a grilled cheese and it was average. Only thing that was good was the view of the ocean.
(1)Ryan W.
Only okay. Definitely a joint for the locals. We were some of the youngest there. The setting is great! The food decent. Did the crab cake sandwich. Good, but not great. Overall experience... try it once and that'll suffice.
(2)Dominick L.
Forget about the unique atmosphere, eating on the Atlantic. The menu is great. We've been eating at Waldo's for decades, but never again. We were treaded rudely, to say the least. We sat at the bar, and the look the bartender gave us was anything but, welcome to Waldo's, or how may I help you. He made us feel like we were a couple of lepers. So if you don't care about friendly staffs, or being treated like someone who does not belong, then Waldo's might be okay. The food, menu and prices are all reasonable. There are just too many other restaurants within a 5 minutes walk from Waldo's that have never treated us rudely.
(1)Briana S.
If the amazing view of the beach isn't enough, the food was great too! Most of the seafood is fried, but FRESH, a huge plus for me. We tried the dolphin fingers (like chicken fingers, but mahi) as an app: cleverly named, and delicious! Then I had the crab cake sandwich: the roll was a bit thick, but once I peeled some away, the crabcake was moist and delicious -- also, something sort of different! Their Waldo's house beer was great too! Made by Budwiser special for the restaurant, the beer was really refreshing, especially for a Bostonian just off the plane, trying to get used to the heat! I had two -- yum! The only downfall of the place was the ditz of a hostess. It wasn't busy, but she either was very overwheled, or just didn't care/ listen to what we had to say. The main reason why she was so terrible was that we sat down and asked she seat our family (who we were surprising) at our table. We pulled off the surprise seemlessly, until she got invoved. We carefully described our family members who were meeting us, and sat with our backs facing the entrance. Not only did she ask our family members if they were meeting us, but when they said "no", she walked them right by us to seat them at another table -- um, hello? Overall, the restaurant was great, even an air-head hostess couldn't ruin my experience at a place like this one!
(4)M T.
Chicken Club Sandwich, today. Awesome little resort. Ever since we found this place years ago, we have enjoyed a meals here. We come up on occasion and stop in we always say we will do a little mini weekend getaway here; one of these days we will. We love the atmosphere of the place.
(4)Jason H.
I'm disappointed. I had high hopes for this place after reading the Yelp reviews and getting recommendations from the hotel. Wow, what a let down. OK, so apparently there's a factory next door where someone burns piles of cigarettes. Oh, I'm sorry, that was the chain-smoking couple behind us. Or was it the cigar-smoking dude to our side? No, actually, I think it was the table on the other side of us sacrificing cartons of Salems and Camels to the gods of nicotine. Man, had I known we were going to a smoke-a-torium, I would've suggested another place to eat. Anyway, on to the food. I got the snapper special, blackened. My dining friend got the stuffed mahi. Both looked great. Both came with some sort of mango or peach salsa. I couldn't tell what fruit it was because it was so syrupy; it actually tasted like canned peaches with jalapeno. We both got the sweet potato and pasta salad. I've definitely had better pasta salad in cafeterias. We both commented that we didn't know sweet potatoes came that small. It was barely half the size of any Russet you'd get at a steakhouse. On to the fish. My partner said his fish was cooked fine, and he seemed to enjoy it. Mine, on the other hand, was drastically overcooked. It was dry, tough, and had the texture of canned tuna. Snapper is such a good fish; cooking it this thoroughly was a travesty. I had higher hopes. The best food on my plate was simply mediocre. The worst was just disgusting.
(2)Jerry V.
Typical Sports Bar. Had the Baked Brie and a glass of wine. It wasn't too bad. Our sever Eric was great but the hostess who sat us was lazy and impolite.
(3)Jena S.
The Driftwood has always been one of my favorite places to take out of town guests - great views, nice atmosphere, good food. I wish I could rate the food from our latest visit to the Driftwood (April 2, 2013) but we never got any. I will, instead, review customer service, or lack there of. 5 of us, including my 80 year old mother arrived at the Driftwood around 6:30pm and although there were people there - it was far from crowded. They have never taken reservations so we did not make any. After standing around for several minutes with no one even as much as glancing in our direction, we decided it was a great evening to eat outside. We approached the hostess outside and gave our names. We were told it would be a 25 - 30 minute wait. No problem. We went out to the boardwalk area and took in the views. Another group of people were called eventually and several (3 or 4 tables) sat empty and we were not called. My mother started to get cold so we decided to eat inside instead. We notified the outside hostess and went back inside. No one was waiting for tables and we saw two empty booths, a large round table by the outside entrance and two other large round tables that needed to be cleared. We took a spot by the hostess stand where they keep menus and silverware and waited. A older man who worked there but was clearly not a waiter looked at us and then busily arranged and rearranged the chairs around the large empty table. Slowly the two other large tables that needed to be cleared, were. We thought he was readying a table for us. And still we waited. The man even reached around us to grab silverware. In the mean time, other people had lined up behind us. We watched silently as the waiters got drinks and the older man buzzed around nervously. Finally the man went out to the porch area and starting moving tables and chairs around. He directed us to the porch. A waiter came and took our drink order and brought back the drinks fairly quickly. He took our food order which was nothing complicated - a few burgers, a sandwhich, chicken tacos or something to that effect. And once again we waited. After about 30 minutes, we noticed that a couple who had been seated after us were served their food We continued to wait and after about 45 minutes we decided that we were hungry and we got up to leave. The icing on the cake? As we were leaving we saw a family sitting at the round table near the door that was empty when we arrived and while we were waiting to be seated and they were also eating! We went down the street to Ninos.

Oh come on!! I don't understand what everyone is looking for anymore. Me? I'm not one who critiques decor or atmosphere for that matter but this place has got them both. Add the great food and decent prices and "One time doesn't suffice". Unless you wear dark sunglasses at night you have got to have an idea of what you are about to walk into when you arrive. It is located in the funkiest hotel I have ever seen!! That's the charm and allure of this place. My wife had the warm brie and fruit. I am not a fan of brie cheese but I gotta say this wasn't bad. Neither were the fish and chips. Light and flakey with just the right amount of crunch. Sitting on the ocean was delightful too ( did I just say delightful? ) Servers were great. They new right away we were "out of towners" as anyone on the planet would know the minute I start to speak...hey it's a Jersey thing. They all cracked me up and because of this and the a fore mentioned, I will be back very soon and cannot wait to bring friends and family. If that doesn't say enough about this place, stick with McDonald's.
(4)Msabu N.
Parking was confusing because the restaurant is in the Driftwood Inn. You can't park in front of the rooms. I don't know if there is more parking somewhere else. We wanted to sit out by the ocean but it was too hot. Started to sit at a booth, the seat had a bunch of crumbs on it, had to brush it off, then as I started to slide in my hand on the table, there was something sticky that hadn't been cleaned from the last group that sat there. I looked over towards the wall at the end of the booth, it could have used a good cleaning. I have a gut feeling the whole place could use a good cleaning. Waitress took drink order quickly, then got our food order quickly, then disappeared. I could see her outside talking to other employees. I had to go to the bar myself to get another beer. 4 dollar beer was warm and foamy, so didn't get a full cup. My husband said his Backyard Burger was good and my Jamaican Mahi-Mahi Sandwich was well seasoned and cooked well. Next time we are in Vero we will explore a different restaurant. It's a historic landmark, guess I expected more.
(2)Julius C.
Great atmosphere ....cheap drinks...awesome ocean viewes. Marginal food at best. Cold fries..tough Conch fritters..avoid the Cuban sandwich...they use imitation Lobster meat in their lobster roll sandwiches ...Hawaiian salad is very weak..5 tiny shrimp .. also use 80/100 count scallops instead of bay scallops ...coconut shrimp is all breading. Spotted funky place off the main drag in Vero Beach. Had me at hello Hot as heck we sat outside under the protection of the back porch overlooking sun bathers and the swimming pool. I went with blackened snapper special, friend- fried white fish, other friend blackened shrimp quesadilla. All great. Waitress. Quick. Smart and friemdly. Waldo's is a nice treat ambiance and funk over rides the cool experience

Love it here! Better-than-average bar fare and always super-friendly service. Awesome place to enjoy a relaxed, casual meal on the beach without breaking the bank (great cocktail specials, too)!

Located at the Driftwood Resort, Waldo's terrace overlooks the ocean. The view is spectacular and the atmosphere pleasant. They have a good selection of seafood although we were disappointed that almost everything on the menu was fried.

Casual Oceanside dining @ a history rich location. Great salads. Live music on weekends, weather permitting. Salads, burgers, and cold beers are great, and the view is better. Nothing beats Waldo's on a sunny afternoon.

This is a usual stop on our visits to Vero. Great spot for lunch outside by the pool if you are looking for the "Jimmy Buffett-Florida" type lunch spot. Food is pretty good, but the people watching is fun, the view is awesome, and occasionally they have live music, which is nice. Agreed that they need more healthy alternatives.
